In 1993, my parents sent me to Australia for high school. I continued my pursuit of animal studies, leading me into La Trobe University in Melbourne for my Animal Science degree. While university was educating me with concepts, I practiced my hands-on skills with a wide range of dogs and trainers including Jim Tokis and Kris Kotsopoulos. At the beginning, I dealt with a large number of pet dogs and problem dogs, mainly teaching them a set of basic commands so they would behave. As the more I learned, the more fanatical I became, after about two years, training dogs in obedience and security simply couldn't satisfy my hunger for knowledge anymore. I wanted to enhance my skills and ability, and to compete in a world wide sport involved with working dogs, and that's how I began training and competing in Schutzhund / IPO. Eventually, this obsession with canine learning, behaviour, and psychology has become my lifestyle and my chosen career. In 2002, I started my own business CanineSquad, a dog training and behavioural consultation company based in Melbourne, Australia. My services include solving behavioural problems for dog owners, training their dogs in obedience and protection, and educating the general public the proper way to communicate with their pets. In 2005, to further develop my finesse with working dogs and to pursue my dream to compete on the world stage of dogsports, I took Haruo's advice and decided to migrant to Belgium, which is one of the most elite countries for dog training in the world and the motherland of Belgian Malinois. Since moving to Belgium, I have the opportunities to train and work with some of the most talented and knowledgeable dog people in the world. My academic background in Biological Science and my residency in three different continents of the world have given me many advantages seldom enjoyed by most dog trainers. I speak and write fluent English, Chinese, and a little bit of Dutch. Being able to travel the world on regular bases participating in canine events has enabled me to see a wide range of animal training systems, good and bad. At the beginning of 2007, I was personally appointed by Bart Bellon to be one of his Sportdog-Innotek Pro-Staff, entitling me to give seminars focusing on the modern way of e-collar training system, which is humane, simple, and effective. Because of my acquaintances with numerous breeders, trainers, and dog handlers in Europe, I have instant access and direct information of dogs, puppies, studs, and frozen semen that are suitable for sports, detection, military, and law enforcement.
