- About Us : Good day from Athens. BR foods imports and exports small to medium sized Greek handmade, hard candy company, based in Athens Greece, (family run). Infact to our knowledge, we are the only handmade hard candy company that produces its products using no artificial colorings or essence in Greece & the Balkans. We are also the only company in Greece that has the approval of the Hellenic Food Authority, stating that: we do not require to have a sell by date on our products (though we do). As you will understand our Sweets / Hard candy are of top quality and are the only ones sold of this type. Our company was registered in 1920, running to this day, making it the oldest producer of hard sweets/boils, in Greece. Our customers include: 90% of all tourist outlets here in Greece, all main supermarket chains (Carrefour, Vassilopoulos, Dia, Marinopoulos, Sklavenitis, Promitheftiki and so on) not forgetting most small food & newsagent retail outlets. Moreover 20% of our production goes to Cyprus with some interest in Russia. We do not produce hundreds of different flavors, nor do we produce many different sizes of containers and packages, infact we produce a total of 11 flavors ( Sour cherry, orange, Strawberry, Banana, mint, rose petal, honey, natural Chios mastic gum, cinnamon, Ouzo, almond nougat, chlorophyll) and two variations of glass containers (350gr & 150gr). We only use glass containers, as this keeps the product in pristine condition for a very long time and this is also the main reason we have the approval from the Hellenic Food Authority .
