This involved consolidating sea & air freight shipments in australia, new zealand, asia & europe for shipment to four companies in noumea. We were able to develop the new caledonian market, and kalgin was quickly established as the market leader in logistics services between australia & new caledonia - a position we maintain today. In 1996 kalgin put to advantage its success in new caledonia to expand into french polynesia. We established a scheduled twice monthly sea freight consolidation service & weekly air freight consolidation service between sydney & papeete. Once firmly established in the french pacific territories, kalgin embarked on an aggressive strategy to become the leader in sea & air freight logistics services from australia & new zealand to the pacific region. We strategically selected new markets, gained local knowledge first hand, and formed solid relationships.
