So we like to make sure they receive the recognition they deserve, with both a featured spot on our website and a generous royalty for every one of their designs sold. Being art lovers ourselves we aim to help develop the artists of tomorrow with as much support as we can.The Wool Factory The Wool Factory is a unique Australian Disability Enterprise established in 1983 which specialised in ultrafine wool production for the international textiles market. What began as a marginal activity providing supported employment opportunities for people with disabilities, quickly developed into an organisation that was a major contributor to a prestigious niche market. A Community-based project providing services to clients from a wide geographical area, The Wool Factory provides high quality employment opportunities to its 50 special needs clients in five commercial enterprises. In 2004, The Wool Factory produced the best bale of wool ever put on the world open market. The 11.8 micron bale achieved a price of 300,000 cents per kg for the 93 kg bale. The organisation continued to produce ultrafine wool, until recently due to the GFC and other factors that contributed to the production of ultrafine wool being unviable.In 2012, The Wool Factory helped us launch the manufacturing and distribution of our products, by supplying the employment solution and factory space needed. Along with the worthwhile cause of supporting the disabled workforce The Wool Factory helps the community providing funds to local sporting organisations and other worthwhile causes.The Creation OfWhat began as a part time hobby on eBay, quickly turned into a full time business. With increasing demand, a love for design, photography, art and a few chance meetings with the right people we were able to quit our job and do something we love.During our time on eBay with the increased demand, lack of staff and still working a full time job we were looking for an environmentally friendly shipping solution. In our search we came across The Wool Factory, which we originally organised to supply us with recycled cardboard inserts, after many discussions we realised we could both help each other much more. With The Wool Factory handling the manufacturing and distribution of our products we were able to focus on what we loved, the design, photography, art and setting up the business you see today.
