Pomsy food products pvt ltd was the first company from kerala to launch extruded snack food by launching pomsy brand corn curls in the kerala market, as early as 1993-94. The pomsy brand of corn curls is well known throughout the length and breadth of kerala and is acknowledged as a very good product both amongst the kerala trade and consumers. To further intensify their presence in the foods industry, the promoter has set up a state-of-the-art biscuit manufacturing unit at a total project cost exceeding rs.18 crores. This plant is rated as the most sophisticated in south india and has a monthly production capacity exceeding 2000 mt. Pomsy biscuits have been launched in kerala& north karnataka markets in june/july,2002 and the current available range includes glucose, cream, bakeshire marie& milkrisp. These products have been received very well in the market and already the company has notched up a market share of 10% in the glucose segment that accounts for 60% of the industry volume. Use of the plc-based technology enables the company to ensure consistently good product quality produced under stringent conditions of cleanliness& hygiene. The company is poised for entry into tamil nadu, andhra pradesh& western maharashtra markets by 31.12.2002 and becoming a force to reckon with in this highly competitive industry. The company is managed by a team of professionals drawn from the fmcg industry and has technical consultancy arrangement with central food technological research institute(cftri), mysore, whereby the products brought out by the company are properly researched and periodically tested for its purity, as well as consistency. Snack foods are also being given a very focused thrust. Currently, snack foods are available in 5 flavours& 2 packs(15 grams and 30 grams) the flavours being spice(spicy curls), pudina(pudina curls), cheese(cheese balls), tomato(tangy tomato)& chat(chat magic). These products are manufactured by the company, using the latest/state-of-the-art holland made fully automatic extruder machine. The product remains totally untouched by human hand, right through the production process, whereby complete hygiene is ensured and the consumers health is protected in line with the companys slogan good health in every bite.
