A brief about the products 1) Shesham Wood The English name of Shesham Wood is Pelician Wood. During the rule of Muslims in India, a specific kind of work was done on Furniture and utility & decorative boxes. These articles were made in Shesham wood, which is considered a very good wood. Today, this art is termed as ancient work. And the boxes made in these have great demand with in India And outside India; as Utility And Decorative Boxes. The boxes are made in seasoned wood and can be made in various sizes as 4inches x 4 inches, 9inches x 6 inches, and any other specific size. These boxes and articles come with brass inlay and carved. 2) Soft Stone - This art dates back to the era of 'making of Taj Mahal'. The Eight Wonder of the World is made in Pure Marble in the ancient city of Agra. The work on Soft Stone is the legacy of the craftsmanship done on Taj Mahal . Today, soft stone (not the same as the one used in Taj) is given shape into various decorative and display articles like elephant/dodo bird/other animal shapes, boxes, pencil stands,oil burners, votives and others. The final product of the stone is brought into shape with carving and inlay work; is a mystique which inspires it's demand. 3) Paper Machie - It is a very ancient Kashmiri art of making product with the help of Paper Pulp. The pulp is made with paper and mixed with glue; then it is given the shape of various articles like Boxes, Letter Rack, Christmas Hangings and others. These articles are basically utility and decoration items. On the top of these, traditional hand paintings are done. This enhances the look of the product. And is one of the major reasons for its huge demand in Europe and USA. 4) Tanjore Paintings Tanjore, a small town in Southern India is famous for its art and paintings since 1000 AD. The art of making these paintings are kept discreet and are only passed in the family from a generation to another. Till today, these painting are a very rich part of the town's culture and heritage.The paintings are made in water colors along with special technique called 'Upaal Work '. Besides being costly, for being rare and beautiful; these painting are a part of the collection of art lovers and home decorators. 5) Zari Articles - Zari work was famous since the time of Mughals . The dresses and accessories of King, Queen and All royal Courtesans were made with fine needle work using Silver, gold and later copper thread. Each dress and piece use to be a fine work of Embroidery- using different material and needle. This technique and workmen ship is still made in Christmas hangings with copper and silk thread.
