In 1920 the valerio family acquired a vast slate ground in the region, which is being explored since then. For most of the 20th century, Slate Company produced exclusively roofing slates (rustic tiles) for the local rustic houses. This family enterprise has been largely mechanized two decades ago, what allowed to extend its activities to foreign markets. We are exporting mainly: - flooring slate tiles - slate steps - sockles Besides, we are engaged in a specific world wide job, in places like tokyo, seoul, honolulu, singapore, xangai, kuala lumpur, abudhabi, berlin, paris, london, mexico city, washington, new york, los angeles and others. Our flooring tiles (in dark grey/blue colour) are very hard wearing, therefore, suitable for all types of floors, both interior and exterior. The characteristics of our slate exceed the standards nf p xp b10-601 required for exterior use, as certified by the laboratoire national d'essais, de, de paris. Occasionally, we find trilobites in our quarry.
